Skill training 101
Skill training or otherwise known as obedience training is very important because besides the mental stimulation, exercise and quality time alone with you, it keeps them safe! A well-trained dog with good manners is more manageable, confident and relaxed. Working with adolescent dogs can be challenging at times. By starting this program early, it will set both you and your dog up for success in those challenging times. In this course I will show you how to teach your dog to “think” and offer appropriate behaviours rather than being forced to cooperate. By giving them choices, which are well-rewarded and making working with us fun. Learning becomes a game with a great positive outcome for the both of you.

Important information
- This class is for dogs over 3 months old in a group environment – No age limit. It mainly consists of adolescent dogs continuing from the puppy school. Any dog over 3 months joining for the first time needs to attend an introductory lesson first to ensure that they will be comfortable in a group class environment. Classes are kept small to ensure personal attention.
- Adult dogs must have had all vaccinations and they must be up-to-date, no older than 3 years. KC vaccination is mandatory. (cards will be checked, this is for the safety for all my doggy students)
- Dogs must be in a normal flat collar or comfortable body harness and lead (NO check/control chains, prong collars, slip leads or shock collars will be allowed)
- Training is carried out with food lures and rewards and no physical or verbal punishment will be allowed nor any manhandling while in training.
This course is not a socialisation course. The focus here is on training and developing the relationship between dog and pet parent. A dog with poor social skills will find this class very stressful and not the solution for solving serious social problems.
All breeds are welcome.
